Psychotropic Medications Many of our children take medications to help them with psychological and psychiatric disorders such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression and anxiety. These medications are referred to as "psychotropic" in nature; that is, they alter the mind, emotions or behavior. The large number of these medications out there can be overwhelming and scary at times. Click on the link below for a great list of psychotropic medications and the illnesses or symptoms for which they are commonly prescribed. By no means is this resource intended for parents to diagnose their children, but it may offer some clarity to an otherwise confusing area.
